Pledge to Support Chickens

We cannot have chickens in Pierre due to city ordinance. This limits our ability to produce more of our own food, exercise private property rights, and attract a younger workforce.

We are asking people to pledge to contact city commissioners in support of urban chickens.

The ordinance stipulates 6 hens, no roosters, and predator-proof coops setback minimum 20 feet from neighboring dwelling units.

Pledge today!

GOAL will be tabling at the farmers markets throughout August. We will be conducting surveys for the foodshed analysis and getting people to pledge to support the chicken ordinance.

If you have a couple of hours on a Saturday, sign up to help or contact Jenn at outreach@greateroaheactionleague.org

The next chicken meeting will be Monday August 17 at 7pm at 304 N Johnson. Join us as we gear up for our public meeting.
