Foodshed Meeting Report

The local foods committee had a productive meeting about conducting a foodshed study on Monday night.

The most important work they did was to define why do a foodshed study. Understanding what we hope to accomplish will shape how the study will be done. We are beginning with the end in mind.

We are undertaking a foodshed analysis to understand opportunities to:

  • Expand consumer access to local foods.
  • Expand producer access to local markets.
  • Connect producers and consumers.

If you would like to be part of this, please contact Sabrina.

Food for Thought

Are you passionate about local foods and sustainability? Moving this issue forward won’t happen without a lot of committed people stepping up to take leadership.

If you can take on a responsibility in a committee or attend a Principles of Community Organizing Workshop or help with some of the governance/leadership of the chapter, I want to visit with you.

GOAL/DRA are unique in that it is the members who make it happen. If all you can do is pay your annual dues, thank you! But if you can do more, even just a little bit more, then we could use your time, talents, and energy.

Get involved. Make it happen. Local action. Community strong.
